| WARREN TOWNSHIP The Township of Warren, originally inhabited by the Lenape Indians, has served as the crossroads for travelers between Pennsylvania and East Jersey since colonial days. Probably the oldest landmark still remaining, dating back to 1692, is the tavern known as King George Inn. Located along the King's Highway, the Inn became a well known stop for travelers. Today, major highways have transformed Warren from a small farming town into a rural residential community of single family homes on lots of an acre or more.
